Lauren was born in Long Island (Manhasset, NY) to Harriet & Martin Schatz. Her sister, Karen, beat her to the world by just over three years. Karen & Lauren have reversed initials (Karen Lynn & Lauren Kay). After a quick stint in New York, the Schatz household moved to Longwood, Florida, a suburb of Orlando where Dr. Schatz became the long-time Dean of Business for Rollins College in beautiful Winter Park. The family were members of Congregation of Liberal Judaism, then known as CLJ. The synagogue is now known as CRJ (Reform). |
